Brand Marketing Director

The Brand Marketing Director plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the overall brand strategy for our clients. This leadership position requires a dynamic and strategic thinker with a deep understanding of branding, marketing, and consumer behavior in the beauty industry. The Brand Marketing Director is responsible for driving brand strategy, storytelling, enhancing brand equity, and ensuring brand consistency across all touchpoints. This role requires a visionary leader who can inspire and lead cross-functional teams to deliver on the brand’s promise and objectives. Must have experience across a wide variety of marketing touchpoints including social, email and brand positioning.

Location: Ideally Southern California based and Hybrid position, but open to Remote for the right candidate.

Client Account Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead account management for all clients with support of Account Manager and channel leads.
  • Establish big picture brand vision by setting long-term marketing strategies in line with clients’ business objectives.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive brand strategies that align with clients’ overall goals and objectives.
  • Define and refine clients’ unique value propositions, ensuring they resonate with the target audience and distinguish the brand from competitors.
  • Lead the creation of integrated marketing campaigns that effectively communicate the brand’s message and drive brand awareness and engagement.

  • Lead storytelling and writing by establishing tone of voice, personality, competitive positioning, and messaging for new and existing brands with the assistance of copywriters as needed.
  • Collaborate on packaging design and messaging to make sure it is in line with overall brand vision and strategy.
  • Oversee and lead organic social campaigns for clients in all social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Youtube, Pinterest with a focus on Meta and TikTok).
  • Oversee full funnel email campaigns for clients to acquire new customers, build LTV and convert new and existing customers.
  • Manage a high-performing brand team, providing guidance, mentorship, and clear direction to achieve brand objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments such as packaging design, brand design, social, email, copywriters, sales, and customer success to ensure alignment with the overall brand strategy for clients.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on beauty industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape, using insights to inform brand decisions.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of channel initiatives and make data-driven decisions.

Crème Marketing Internal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Internal storytelling in email campaigns with the support of email channel lead.
  • Lead internal social campaigns and calendar, creating and posting all posts to social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok).
  • Storytelling and scoping for new business sales pitches and attending sales pitches when needed.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Beauty industry experience and proficiency required.
  • Wellness industry experience preferred.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in brand marketing management, with a track record of successfully developing and executing brand strategies.
  • Both agency and brand experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence others.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data and market research to inform branding decisions.
  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for design and branding aesthetics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with Klayvio email marketing platform
  • Experience with social media management platforms
  • A passion for brand-building and a deep understanding of consumer behavior.
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
  • Comfortable writing brand stories and copy with and without the support of a designated copywriter.
