USING THE POWER OF BEAUTY

TO TRANSFORM & HEAL.

LIPSTICK ANGELS IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT STARTED WITH THE SIMPLE DESIRE TO MAKE HOSPITAL PATIENTS FEEL BETTER THROUGH BEAUTY.

Lipstick Angels believes that providing nurturing beauty support services helps restore and strengthen the dignity, hope, and self-esteem of cancer patients. Their program is designed to expand each cancer patient’s support experience by complementing the hospital’s cancer care team and adds a new dimension of care to a patient’s treatment by focusing on their self-esteem and emotional well being. They address the non-medical aspects of treatment for chronic and acute illness by promoting a positive outlook in patients and helping maintain their dignity and identity throughout their hospital stay. Lipstick Angels achieves this by providing personalized beauty services including hand massages, skin care, makeup application, and aromatherapy. Every week, Angels (all industry professionals) in California and New York, visit patients in the hospital at their bedside while they receive chemo/radiation therapy. Through touch, compassion, and care, they create an intimate environment that fosters kindness, empathy, and support, contributing to recovery and nourishing the whole person – mind, body, and spirit.

As a beauty industry professional and/or enthusiast, there are many ways to help this special cause. We invite you to make a donation, host a fundraising event, create awareness, and support Lipstick Angels in their efforts to expand. Please contact Crème Collective for creative campaigns for your retail business, ways to donate and/or volunteer your time and expertise.

CRÈME SAYS...

  • Renata Helfman, a professional Hollywood makeup artist and pioneer of the natural beauty movement, set out to make a change the best way she knew how; helping people feel beautiful.  She partnered with Cedars Sinai in Beverly Hills to launch the first ever beauty services program in the chemotherapy center, where she encountered people who were at the most troubled time of their life.
  • Why beauty services?  It is so much more than makeup.  The Lipstick Angels team of beauty professionals work with patients in hospital infusion centers to bring about a beautiful distraction in an otherwise dreary day.  A moisture mask, a hand massage, a little blush and a swipe of lip gloss.  A conversation, human touch and a lot of love.  The goal is to pamper, to connect, and to remind patients that despite the loss of hair, heart and hope, they are beautiful.
  • The Lipstick Angels can be found in hospitals across California, but would love to treat patients across the country.  Crème Collective is helping them expand.  Will you?
